Domaine Armand Rousseau

From the moment Armand Rousseau inherited vineyards and cellars in Gevrey‑Chambertin in 1909, the estate set itself apart. With early adoption of estate bottling in the 1930s - alongside direct export to the US after Prohibition - Rousseau not only disrupted the traditional négociant model, but positioned itself as a pioneer of Burgundy’s modern identity.

Through each vineyard acquisition - Chambertin, Clos de Bèze, Clos de la Roche, Clos des Ruchottes - the domaine carefully assembled some of Burgundy’s most eminent parcels, a process spanning decades and conducted with familial dedication.
